If a guy was born in Iowa but he moved to Tennessee and was raised there would he rather be from Iowa or Tennessee since Iowa is his native place?

He would be born in Iowa and raised in Tennessee. Iowa would be his birth state and Tennessee would be his home state.

He was raised in Tennessee. If he moved to Washington and people said "WTF (Where They From)?" he'd respond saying "I'm from Tennessee".

The time it takes to raise a kid is phenomenal compared to the time it takes to be born in a place. So the guy would probably say he is from Tennessee.
