I looked up "Serpent cult" wondering if that's an actual adjective used to describe a group of religions.  It is not.  But the closest thing I came to was "Snake worship".  Christianity and Judaism is not a religion that worships snakes as gods or overly wholly creatures.

The instances you stated in your question are just stories passed down through thousands of years. I'm sure the word serpent is just a synonym for something else.
