What is the significance of suddenly and very noticeably getting a lot of bugs of one kind or another in your home if there is no open food, standing water, darkness or otherwise cluttered environment to attract them and encourage them to breed? Where could they actually possibly be coming from?

Quite possibly it's from the season change. Many insects come out when the weather warms up. Then they usually go on their way in time.
