Why is denial of manmade climate change common but denial of manmade extinctions is rare? Both have happened before humans existed after all so shouldn't deniers of both events be about equal in number?

There's less money to be made in denying that the passenger pigeon extinction is our fault.  (There are still poachers and hunters exploiting for profit, food and "pleasure." )

There's still a lot of money to be made by those invested in fossil fuels.
