"mixed race" or "multi-racial" refer to your genetic heritage---and of course that is fixed.

How that genetic heritage manifests itself in your facial and other features as well as your skin tone is the pleasant surprise your parents gave you.

I don't believe in race.  I know that some documents ask you to identify yourself, but you can pick what you want to identify as.

Does skin color really matter that much to you? There is no such thing as "race" although there is such thing as a species diffrence.

I think in this day and age, you can choose how you want to identify yourself as. Now as for the old days, there was a law or something that said as long as you had one drop of African-American blood you were to be considered African-American.
