Probably. One of the standard questions asked by doctors, including oncologists, is, "Do you have a history of cancer in your family?" They wouldn't ask if it wasn't relevant.

There are some cancers that have genetic links. For example with breast cancer there is the BRCA gene. Having that gene can increase you chances of getting breast cancer but still isn't a guarantee you will get it or just as not having the gene won't guarantee you won't get breast cancer. One of my male neighbors just made my day. He noticed my hair cut and inquired as to why I cut my hair so short? Then he proceed to say he liked it. And he said I was a very good neighbor and he wished we had more neighbors like me.

I have a sweet neighbor in the back that always talks to my dogs over the fence, she doesn't have any dogs herself but she always buys dog biscuits for mine.😃
