How Long Does It Take For Nursing Cat To Dry Up After Kittens Have Gone?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Milk production in cats is ceased after 10 days of separation of kittens from mother. Recent research has proved that cats should have a nursing period of 12 weeks. Because, after the age of 12 weeks, kittens are unable to digest milk. So, it can be the law of nature that kittens should be fed by their mother up to the age of 12 weeks.

To have adequate milk production in mama cat through out the nursing period, she should get a good diet with full of nutrients. Because during nursing periods, she not only needs energy for herself but also has to produce milk for the kittens. So, she should have healthy diet when lactating.
