Your best bet is to use the Sears online parts store.  They really have a wealth of information available including owner's manuals, repair manuals, and part diagrams.  If you have a broken part, you can match it to the picture and order it right there.  To find the web site, you could do a Google search for "Sears parts", or you could go to www3.sears.com (though I do not know if this link will work for you directly; you may have to cut and paste into your browser.)
    Make sure you get all the information from your mower first.  On mine, there is a tag under the seat that shows the model number and serial number.  Yours may be located elsewhere.  Your model number should be nine digits, usually starting with 917 for tractors.  For example, mine is 917.255981 for an 18HP garden tractor.  On the website, enter the model number and you are in business.

Craftsman ll riding mower 6 speed 12hp. 38 inch need model # mine has been removed. Lookin for a stering arm .
