Automatic Transmission Question,can You Help?

When accelerating from a stopped position, it is extremely hesitant and "boggs" down. Extremely slow to the start. Once in second gear and up, no issues. Car is a 2003 auto taurus. My terminology may be wrong, but it almost feels like is slips or something in first gear..like the RPMS the engine and RPMS are not in line.

Change the tranny fluid and filter immediately. It should be changed about every 80,000 or so miles. If it is slipping and nothing is done eventually the tranny will die and you will be going nowhere at all.

I would need to know what your problem is first in order to answer correctly.

2003 S-10 will not down shift to low gear. Replaced filter and fluid, no help. Think it may be the throttle position sensor, but not sure.
