    Devise is a noun. Devise means to gift/transmit real property by will. It already refers to come up with an idea or a detailed plan after using the intellect.

    It also refers to using ingenuity in making, developing or designing. Simply, it means to organize.

    It is generally meant to create a system which produces results.

    In technological terms, It is said that a mechanism is devised to produce or reduce an activity.

    Its synonyms are plan, work out, invent, develop, create, think up, formulate, concoct, conceive, contrive, etc. The antonym of devise is borrowed.

    During war times, plans and strategies are devised to counter and fight the enemy.
