My Cat Broke His Leg. How Much Does This Typically Cost To Treat?

At an emergency clinic we were quoted to pay $350 not including treatment. Will this be close to the amount we will pay at his regular vet office?

The initial office visit (exam) and x-rays will probably cost between $150and$350 at a daytime clinic.  Prices vary widely across the country and in different cities.  If your cat's leg is broken it may need surgery which will cost more--possible $500-$1500.  Some fractures can be stabilized by splinting for 4-8 weeks.  This would involve multiple bandage changes--most cats need sedation due to pain and to get the position correct.  This adds up as well.
Contact your veterinarian for a better estimate.  Before any services are done they will give you an estimate.  Some clinics will accepts payment plans.  Also contact your local shelter to see if they run or know of a low cost or income based clinic.

Thanks for the help. It ended up being a severe break and Poncho (my cat) needed surgery to repair it. Thanks for all of the help with your own experiences and luckily I have a wonderful set of parents who adore Poncho and were willing to assist me with the expense. Again thanks!

Hi buddy sorry to know about your cat's condition. Well it all depends upon the vet and the location in which you are living. The medicine, X-rays and dollars 30 + per visit. Buddy its really expensive. According to my knowledge and expense the minimum cost should be between $150 to $200 but again it all depends upon the vet and the area in which you live.
