Do Casinos Still Play A Major Part In Attracting Visitors To Las Vegas?

Answer Question

Casinos remain king as evidenced by McCarran International Airport. Despite serving a city population of a little over half a million, McCarran has traffic volumes that make it the world's seventh busiest airport.

The legions of visitors that flock to Las Vegas year round have in excess of 100,000 hotel rooms to choose from and countless casinos in which to try to win – or lose – their fortune. This pilgrimage to the green baize can be summed up in no better way than pointing to The Strip. Arguably one of the most famous streets in the US, if not the world, this section of the Las Vegas Boulevard South is lined with luxury hotels, world-class casinos and show venues.

Of course, there's more to Las Vegas than slot machines and blackjack. The city has some of the greatest shopping and nightlife around.

Top visitor attractions include Luxor, the Egypt-themed casino complex; legendary casino, Caesar's Palace; and the Las Vegas Natural History Museum when it's time to chill out. Despite Las Vegas' attempts to widen its appeal, casinos and gambling will remain a staple for the foreseeable future.

Why do you think they were built? And continue to be built? And blown up and built again? Somebody ( HI! Mr.Wynn,Mr.Boyd,MGM,Harrahs, Etc.) ALWAYS wants to have the biggest and best and the most extravagent casino around. I'll be out there at the end of April. See Ya!
