What Exactly Is Mold ? Are All Molds Toxic?

Answer Question

There are different types of molds, some are harmful if inhaled, especially one type in particular, I think it is called stacky batris. There are other molds that can be healthy for you too.
Penicillin is made from a mold base. But even with that being so, some people can be allergic to it, and can die if given penicillin wrongly.
To prevent it from growing  in a room, window sill, bathtub, kitchen sink, places where moisture condensates, you need to keep it dry, and aired out.
Ventilation is the best preventive measure for keeping it away, and not letting condensation build up anywhere. Hope this helps.

It is characteristically a form of fungus, more commonly found in humid and warm environments. They are microscopic organisms, found almost everywhere either it be indoors or outdoors. Molds typically reproduce asexually by means of airborne spores. They are of thousands of types and always present in the air. They are very tiny, not only light-weighted but also easily detached by airflow, walking on carpet, vacuuming or even sitting on a couch. They are found in almost any area of your home, either it be bathrooms, basement, carpet, kitchen, living room or garage. They require food to sustain and feed on organic material such as wood and paper found in homes and buildings.

On one hand not all molds are toxic. Some good types of molds are those used to produce Camembert and Roquefort cheeses. The drug penicillin is a by-product of the fungus Penicillium notatum. On the other hand they can be threatening to invade the human respiratory system.

Toxic molds such as aspergillus, penicillium, and toxic mold atra (also called stachybotrus chartarum) can cause a variety of illnesses. Toxic mold or black mold can be deadly specially to children with mold allergies. After they begin to grow, their spores quickly become airborne and travel throughout air conditioning and heating systems. You can inhale over a half million spores per minute without knowing it.
