Yes, Venus is hotter than Mercury.

How Hot Are Mercury And Venus?
The temperature of Venus can rise to over 400ºC, while the average surface temperature of Mercury is about 180ºC.

Why Is Venus Hotter Than Mercury?
The planet Venus is surrounded by a dense atmosphere comprised mainly of carbon dioxide.

Consequently, the heat that Venus receives from the Sun is retained by its atmosphere, and the surface temperature of the planet increases considerably. This phenomenon is known as the 'greenhouse effect'.

Venus is nearly twice the distance from the Sun as Mercury, but it absorbs almost all the heat energy it receives.

Mercury does not have an atmosphere, and is not able to retain any heat - which means that it's a lot cooler than Venus.

Yes, because Mercury doesn't really have the atmosphere to retain all that heat, so it moves past Mercury to Venus. A lot of heat sticks with Venus, because it retains all its heat in the carbon dioxide atmosphere.

Venus is hotter than Mercury because of its atmosphere, which applies a greenhouse effect that collects the heat from the sun.

Mercury does not have an atmosphere, so it will not retain as much heat, but since it's close to the sun, it's still hot!

Yes, because the CO2- rich atmosphere and thick clouds on Venus generate the strongest greenhouse effect of all the planets.

Venus is much hotter than Mercury because of greenhouse effects, and the atmosphere is so messed up that it rains acid. Venus is a planet of terror.
