Who Is Graham Hancock?

Graham Hancock is a former journalist who embarked on a new career as an author exploring historical subjects from an unconventional point of view. He has written several best-selling books, including The Sign and the Seal : Quest for the Lost Ark of the Covenant and Fingerprints of the Gods : The Quest Continues, exploring ancient monuments and mysteries. His work is wide-ranging but among its themes are that various ancient monuments in countries all across the world may be linked in some way, and that they embody astronomical knowledge, perhaps representing star maps. Hancock believes that extra-terrestrials may have visited Earth in ages past, giving a helpful hand to the progress of human civilisation or perhaps even creating it in the first place.

Hancock presented his theories in a Channel 4 television series in the UK. The BBC's Horizon program also covered Hancock's ideas in a less sympathetic light.
