Personal Computer: A personal computer (PC) is any general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and original sales price make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end user, with no intervening computer operator. This is in contrast to the batch processing or time-sharing models which allowed large expensive mainframe systems to be used by many people, usually at the same time, or large data processing systems which required a full-time staff to operate efficiently. :D x x x

Basically personal computers are for the personal use of an individual. Personal computers are easier to use than other types of computers. Personal computer are categories into four types; Desktop Computers, Laptop Computers, Palmtop Computers and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). Desktop Computers are most commonly used type of personal computers. Desktop computers are used in many places such as home, school and business. Laptops are second common type used of personal computers. These computers are like a note book and small in size. We can easily take laptops anywhere and business travelers mostly used laptops. These computers are also used by people whose jobs require them to move from place to place.

These computers are also used for presenting information during meetings. Palmtop computers are also types of personal computers and are so small that they can fit into the pocket of your coat. These computers have slow speed and less working capacity than previous two types of the computers. Palmtop Computers are mostly used by small businessmen and salesmen. Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) is small, mobile hand help devices. These mobiles like computers are also capable of computing data and data storage. With some PDA devices also provide electric pen for using these small computers.
