Recorded as the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest is located on the border between Nepal and China. Mount Everest, affectionately called "Goddess of the Sky" by the Nepalese people, reaches a height of, approximately, twenty-nine thousand and twenty-eight feet. Some brave people attempt to climb Mount Everest on one of its' two main climbing routes, the northeast ridge from China and the southeast ridge from Nepal, and thirteen other smaller, less visited routes. With the extreme height and temperatures, climbing Mount Everest is an extremely dangerous and daring task. According to records collected after the 2003 climbing season, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen people had succeeded in reaching the summit of Mount Everest while one hundred and seventy-nine people have died whilst trying. To date, the single deadliest year in Mount Everest history was in 1996 during the 1996 climbing season. On May 10th 1996, a storm stranded several climbers, killing eight of them. An additional eleven people lost their lives that year trying to reach the top of Mount Everest. A total of nineteen people died, in 1996, trying to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Mount Everest is the name of the highest mountain in the world, as measured by the height of the summit above sea level. It is a member of the Himalaya mountain range in High Asia, and is situated on the border in between the countries of Nepal and China.
The first person to actually categorize Mount Everest as the highest peak in the world in the year 1852 was called Radhanath Sikdar, who was a mathematician and surveyor from Bengal. He made the use of trigonometry and based his calculations on the dimensions of Peak XV (as it was formerly known) prepared with theodolites from India.
The first person to reach the top of the peak was Sir Edmund Hillary, along with Sherpa Tenzing. Since then there have been several attempts, both successful as well as unsuccessful, to reach the ascent.

Mount Everest is between Nepal and China. It is the highest mountain in the history of Earth. (I did not want to say world because I want to make it more interesting.) Not many people get to the top of Mount Everest, but not many don't. Mount Everest is an amazing site to see from the top.
