2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Dress right or dress left are the phrases that are used in military or even musical context. Dress right could mean act right in a particular situation or organization. In military context, the phrase 'dress right' is used as 'dress to the right' and the phrase 'dress left' is used as 'dress to the left'.  One of the phrases, similar to these two is dress to the centre. All these phrases are related to one's action.

Dress is a word that generally means to cover has a reflexive use in Old English. It is used to convey that one should direct one's steps or address one's self. In formal address, dress means to make straight or raise or set up, prepare or arrange or direct. Thus, to dress right / left means to arrange or align oneself in exact position or line with the soldier (or partner, in dance rehearsal) on your right / left.

Crip Side 16 up, 45 down love ithate it

    The left side.

The Bloods often "wear" their colors by sticking a red bandanna in their right back pocket. Therefore, the Crips (who are a rival gang) would consider the sporting of a blue "flag" on the opposite side of the Bloods to be the "Crip Side."

Refers to the side you tuck the dong. Back in the day a tailor would custom make your pants and pants were very tight. The tailor would ask you if you dress to the left or the right so your pants would be fit correctly and contain the snake buddy boy. Although it does sound like you went to alot of trouble to try to sound like you knew what you were talking about.

Hi...thank you for your comment, however -I must inform you that to "dress right or left" also refers to a man'sgenitals as it pertains to the cut of a good suit. When measuring a man for tailored trousers - the tailor will ask the gentleman if he "dresses right...or dresses left". In so doing, he is actually asking if the customer's penis falls to the left or right leg of his trousers. A well-made suit has a little extra fabric on the side that the man's penis usually fals.

I don't think it has any other meaning and only women would give it such an obscure meaning because they don't understand it. I also agree that this is a question all men will have to answer to at one point in their life.
