Can I Withdraw All Of My Money From My 401k To Pay Off Debt ?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This is probably the worst thing you can do. First off you will have to pay a penalty for withdrawing the money if you are younger than 59.5 years old. Secondly, you will have to claim whatever amount you withdraw as income for the year 2009 and pay taxes on it when you file next year.
