Listening skills are important because they allow you to understand the subject that you're talking about - both you and the person you're interacting with. If you're not listening during a conversation, you will mostly be out of the loop, which is not professional.

Reflective listening means when someone has been talking or telling you something in order to show that person that you've been listening you repeat what they say. Basically you pick up the main point and you repeat it that shows that you've been listening.
