Dear Thrice Gotcha,

For you, I would almost inquire as to where your interest comes from? If curiosity, then scientific studies have not yet revealed why some people do not recall their dreams, but they have found differences in brain activity - alpha waves and such - between those who do and don't have dream recall.

If your interest is more your own inner life, then sometimes just giving the idea of dreams some attention can bring them - as for instance you have just done by posting this question. Also, you might just try in your prayers tonight asking something like this; "If dreams are appropriate and beneficial for me at this time, I would enjoy seeing them."

I dreamed vividly for several years starting around 1990; studied Carl Jung and archetypes, wonderful for my understanding, and then the dream recall stopped. I just take that as their work being completed.

Here is one of the first verses of THE RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM:

Dreaming, while dawn's left hand is in the sky,                                                        I heard a voice within the tavern cry;                                                                "Awake my little ones, and fill the cup -                                                                      Before life's liquor, in its cup, be dry."

And, for Omar, that tavern is the one where we receive the Wine of Communion...

There are many people who dream when they sleep and don't remember a thing when they wake up.

I have to confess to being quirky. If there is something on my mind - some kind of problem that I'm having or need to work through - the solution usually shows up in a dream. It usually shows me a different side of the problem I didn't see the first time.

However, there are many more people that dream and don't remember a thing.

Hi
there! This is also my case! I do not really dream and even if it does happen,
I am not of the type to remember every single detail from it. It’s something
that comes to be very rarely, but it’s true that many have such experiences
daily and also manage to tell everything about it.

I remember in my psychology class everybody dreams approximately 21 dreams per night. And sometimes people only remember 1 or 2 or none at all. I forgot the term for this. I think what you're experiencing is normal. But if it is cause by stress or other things, you must visit an expert. :)
