It’s most likely that the machine’s pump or the motor has stopped working properly. It might be that the belt has stopped working or there is some kind of problem that is associated with the belt in the machine. However, to be sure you’re going to need to get an expert out to fix your machine. Your local directory should be able to give you contact details for a variety of companies that can deal with this kind of problem.

If you have only owned the washing machine for a short period of time, however, then it’s obviously going to be relatively irritating to have to go to this extent to deal with the problem. If your machine is currently within its warranty then you should be able to go right back to the store that sold you the machine and request either cash back or a brand new machine  - whatever the warranty outlines. You may have even taken out a guarantee with the machine, which means you would automatically be entitled to something if the machine breaks within an extended period of time. You should have documentation that outlines what needs to be done when this happens.

Your home insurance may be able to cover it if you don’t have any other cover, however. You should get in touch with your insurance provider if you currently have contents insurance, and they will be able to give you details about how you should go about claiming for this broken home appliance. You will be given a certain amount of cash to pay for a new machine but you will still have to pay for the excess that you agreed on when you took out the insurance agreement.

It seem as if the machine pump or motor is out of order. There might be belt problem and in such case you have to replace the belt. But it is always better to ask an expert to have a look at your machine. Look at this answer, I hope this might help you.

Enjoy blurting :)

I had the same problem on my Kenmore Elite Oasis Washer too! I had a service person come out twice. I learned from her that this machine has many problems and this one -- the Ld display comes after it completes draining and wants to spin but can't -- it seems stuck trying to drain even though there is no water in the tub but the clothes are sopping wet ( because it has not begin to spin). She said (the service person) that from other calls on this that she knows of and has done, it could be one of a number of things, so it's worth trying these out: 1) apparently this washer has way too many sensors and you are supposed to use an "HE" or high efficiency type of detergent -- Tide makes an HE version of their product but I have not yet tried it. 2) if the Ld comes on again -- press the Stop button, turn the power off, and unplug the machine for at least 30 minutes (or more) - this is similar to re-booting your computer but having to wait longer; after the waiting time, plug the machine again, press the power button, and press the "Drain and Spin" button; give it time to get started -- there will be a brief addition of water-- not much -- not to worry, it will drain it too, the machine will then spin after a few minutes of draining. This should work and if not, you may have to reboot for a longer period. The first time, this happened to me, I simply took all the clothes out, wrung them out and dried them; then the next day when the service lady came the machine worked and she didn't do much. The second time the Ld problem happened, I simply waited and went out to swim , I came back turned it on and it worked. I was able to do another load.

Apparently the electronics for this machine is bad -- there are too many sensors and if the machine senses too much detergent or the presence of detergent in clothes or anywhere in the soap dispenser, it won't complete the job. Next time I use it, I will use an HE detergent to see if that helps.

This machine is bad design and has poor electronics design. I would never buy this machine again and I will give Sears hell until they give me my money back. (My machine is in our vacation home so we don't use it much -- it's probably ran no more than 30 loads since it was installed in our home about 2 years ago.

I know what a pain this problem is but it's not worth getting stressed out about -- I don't think I paid as much for them as others because our builder got a low price on it along with other (non-Sears) appliances.

Today, we too got the Ld fault code with an Oasis (110.27082602) washer. I initiated the automated diagnostics which displayed two saved/logged fault codes: F51 and F32. The automated diagnostics test did not show a failure, and the technician's troubleshooting guide had numerous manual initiated tests to try - though none exactly matched the conditions of Ld code with empty washer tub. I tried all the tests without finding an error; with the last test, I eventually reset the pressure sensor zero reading. This action seemed logical as the washer drain pump would continue to run after emptying the tub; it didn't seem to "know" that it was empty and move onto the spin cycle. This reset worked for now - we've done 3-4 loads with no problem. I have my fingers crossed that I don't have to replace the control board!!

Hi from louisiana
my oasis washes, spins, & then pulls everything into a round pile, twisting it all [linens in
particular] into mushroom pleats, and they barely dry without wrinkles. Since we bought it 2 months ago, we are wondering if we can return it. Any suggestions? I am sooo tired of un-twisting every load!!!

There is a huge problem with the kenmore He machines. I bought mine back in 2007 and have been having problems with it every 4-5 month. I keep getting a F51 error code. Up until now Sears has been great about it but now they are starting to give me problems about fixing it. They want me to pay for a service call and the parts. They wanted to charge my credit card over $800 for this repair. After doing some research there is a class action suit investigation going on about these washers.
