my friend thinks he suffers from dissociation, he doesnt have PTSD and hes never been abused. i think he is just confused. anyone know what it might actually be?

He might be doing it for attention, unless this is really casing him suffering

How do you 'start over' being friends with someone?

There is this guy I have been friends with since sophomore year of highschool and we have kind of drifted off since then. It's or senior year now and all that goes on is that every now and then we will say hi in the halls. During football season, my sis and him are in band, sis would always tell me every year that he wanted to say hi or talk to me or is sad that we never get to see each other (since we don't have classes together). And so if I go to the games, he would come up and talk to me, however since it's been almsot 2 years since we have been friends/comfortable with each other, it's a bit akward now. We would have small talk and there would a bit of a silence every now and then, my best friend says a bit cringey to watch.

So since it seems like he wants to be friends again too, I want to ask him if we can "start over", have a clean slate (you know what I mean?) so it maybe won't be so akward if it works, but Idk how to do/ask that.
