It's hard to say .. You may not have 'noticed' him grow because you see him everyday. Measuring growth with a static measuring device is sometimes the only way to actually detect it.
My son had a spinal stroke when he was 13 he just turned 17 and can walk now but my main question is does a spinal Stoke stop growth I haven't noticed him grow he's 5'7 his dad 5'10 or 11 I'm 5'5. He's been paranoid about it?
If he cares that much get an X Ray I think your able to tell if there is potential growth left, dont quote me on anything Im not a doctor.
