Years ago, Barnes & Noble wanted to put a store inside one of our malls, there were already two small, independent bookstores. B&N wanted their contracts cancelled as they didn't want the slightest whiff of another bookstore in any other part of the mall.
So, essentially, they flopped on the floor and had a tantrum and the other two SMALL bookstores were booted out of the mall.
B&N is large enough and sells enough of other products besides books that this should haven't have been an issue. Those 2 stores posed no real competition. But to run them out of Dodge, so to speak, was ridiculously stupid. So on sheer principle, I will not shop in their store. Ever.
So to answer your question: No I haven't.
