My first suggestion is to make sure you have drainage. No drainage you could rot your roots. Remember depth. Your garden should be tall / deep enough for what you are planting. You don't plant carrots if the depth of your soil is only 4 inches. Our first season was fantastic. We grew so much we gave most of it away. Second season was a complete failure. The squirrels told the raccoons, they signaled the big birds and the deer came a running. They waited till everything was just about ready to harvest. It was all destroyed in one night.
