I think the daily schedule differs depending on which drug rehab center you go to. I’m not sure if this is the same or similar in every center, but here’s how my average day went:

  • Early morning wakeup

  • Eat a healthy breakfast

  • Take part in the group, counselor-led therapy sessions

  • Free time

  • Sleep

This was at Detox of South Florida rehab center. The group sessions were the most important part (at least for me). We’d talk about things like why we were there and learn to understand what our ‘triggers’ were, then work on avoiding those triggers in the future.

The early start and everything else is more about creating habits and routines for post-rehab. These positive habits and routines like waking up at a particular time give you structure and replace your bad, destructive habits like drug abuse.

I was always in the Mental Health Unit not for Drug Rehab or Alcohol addiction but mainly Mental Health and we did about the same exact thing as Rehab ., except we would get medications some meds were increased while the doctor sometimes took us off of a certain medicine and replaced it with another type of medication but i had good stays when i was in mental health units

In Mental Health Units you always had issues with getting someone to watch when we needed to shave also we wasn't allowed our shoes at night so i would take bedroom slippers and at night time the staff would put snacks out for all of us
