What are the side effects of mind reading, thought control, heightened senses, and becoming a witch or werewolf? I'm writing a story and need to know what happens to the characters when they get their powers (if they get headaches, muscle spasms, etc.) 
Well, depending on the power(s) it would effect each individual differently.
