My Lg Goes Into Standby Mode When I Switch It On The Light Turns Orange And A Few Seconds Later It Goes Back Into Standby Mode. What Is Wrong And How Can I Fix It?

Enough on my plate, but I'll gladly help when I can. My 50" plasma LG has a repair estimate of $1300-$1500, depending upon how many boards "need replacement" after my roof leaked onto it. I don't like being ripped-off by incompetant or untrained 'specialists' and don't believe a board needs replacing because a component failed... find the cause, find the failure, fix both with components, not entire circuit boards. The nine capacitors that blew in my TV cost me about 10 hours of research and $6 for the parts.
