Anyone remember the days when this site got lots of real questions? And lots of real answers? What went wrong?

I guess I don't quite understand what you're talking about Ray, seems to be plenty of questions to answer here. If you're speaking of more intellectual questions, well....I guess that's the beauty of this site....different ages, different education levels, different specialties, I for one, medical....got it covered, if I don't know, I can find out.....ask me math questions....computer questions.... Forget about it! I'll defer to others every time. Some questions are just fun Ray.

Angela and Tyto's answers explain the situation on Blurtit pretty well. I would also add that the transition between designs probably didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped, but we did end up with a pretty cool looking site (in my opinion).

Anyway, in terms of the current questions, I think it'd be nice if we had more people creating a profile and asking questions, rather than all the "anonymous" ones.

I also think, if we could find a way to encourage more people to ask questions, then that could be really powerful.

From my time on the site, what I've learned is that Blurtit user's aren't motivated by earning points or competing against others or whatever else other sites do to encourage more answers...

Most of the people I've come across just genuinely enjoy solving problems, helping people out, and making new connections along the way.

My guess is that, if we could find a "strategy" for encouraging more of that on here, I think that would make the site potentially even better than it was before.

Do you guys have any thoughts on that?
