When you chat to someone over the internet (e.g. The Blurtit Chat section) and you have never heard the other person's voice, do you give them their own little voice in your head when you read their chat?

Oh definitely! I read Happy's answers with the voice of Tweety Bird!

I give them all a voice, even the questions and answers. It ruins everything when I think someone is male then I find out that person is female. ( or vise versa) Roosters comment above about not sounding like John Wayne has ruined my voice of him. The people normally get faces to go with the voice.

Put it down to lack of imagination on my part but, no, I never did. Thanks to your question I'll start doing that.

On Ask, virtually everybody had a North American accent (mostly from the US) but here it's spread a bit wider.

Hmm. I wonder how Ray Dart would sound with a Scouse accent? I'd better not go there. :(

Nope I give my own voice but when I know the person and I read the person's chat then I give them their own voice.

I'm good for doing that ! I always imagine what they really sound like. I talked on the phone to a user from Ask a long time ago and he was surprised I didn't sound and talk like John Wayne ! LOL.
