Just tell them! They're going to find out at some point anyway....tell them and get it over with.

I'd say tell them. It will be better coming from you instead of them finding out.
As a parent I can tell you I always appreciated it more if they came clean and told me the truth before I found out another way. There would always be consequences, but I wasn't as mad if they told the truth and I heard it from them.
