I am quite certain this is not a serious problem...

...but I have 2,347 notifications on my Blurtit profile, and nothing I can do seems to get rid of them...are we worried about this? Can the system crash or something?

The notification system was fixed months ago. You have to keep going through your list of notification pages all the way through till you reach the end and it should clear out. I get over 50 at a time and I just keep going till the number goes down. However, I will report this to the manager and see if there's another problem. I know it takes time but they should clear out.

It takes a long time to go through the pages when you have that many. I have sent in a report but I think they will tell you the same thing. It does hang up sometimes for a day or so and then clears up. I'm on it.

Plus the unread notifications will stay light blue in color. They have been doing some work on the site .

I think I am starting to understand Dear Rooster...not completely, but enough to keep the number from getting even larger.

You'll have to just take an hour or two and go back thru all your pages. It's going to take patience and lots of time.

Ms V, I had the same problem and Rooster, was right with Me. It took me 2 hours to get down to three, when the system first got fixed. I kept stopping to "Thank" 😄folks.

jan that is funny...that is exactly what took me so long...putting stars, getting all involved in old questions, adding comments.... especially those last 167 it seems, must have been when I was first here...!!!

Could clearing the browser cookies/data do it? That is a lot of notifications!

Hi Superfly, I actually did clear the cache on my Apple laptop...

But Rooster stepped in, brought DS in also, and the consensus was that I just needed to scroll down! I actually tried this when I first arrived on the site but for some reason it did not work then.

But this time it did work! So.....I scrolled down through all 2,347 notifications, and that did it, I am now notification free!
(I will tell you, that took a while...)

So ty all is well now.

Cool, glad its fixed. So you probably just scrolled and clicked the "show more" button or it just loaded in real time. Good job!
