The Farmers in Saskatchewan tried DST for a bit, then gave up on changing the clocks and now are on DST all year.

I read Roosters link, but I'll still blame it on the aliens. ;)

Strange to me people are  blaming the farmers. I grew up in a farming community, and the farmers were against DST as the farm animals were used to having things done at a certain time, and they (the cows) didn't have clocks so the farmers had to change their schedule every time DST came into effect or went out.  (Yesterday I milked the cows at 7AM, but the clocks changed last night so I have to milk them at 6AM today as they don't know the clocks changed)

In the US it is law makers who have never farmed spewing how it would help farmers. Farmers have always contended that animals don't ear watches. I am with the farmers. I have two dogs that didn't care what the clock said this morning and still wanted to be fed at the same time that their biological clocks told them it was time to be fed.
