Should school attendance be made voluntary in high school?

From grade 10, we have a choice of 'earning or learning.'  We can start working (that can be a full time job, an apprenticeship, an internship) or staying in school, which I think is good because not every kid does well in a classroom setting, whereas they might be better in a workshop, and vice-versa.

No. Children aren't qualified to decide these matters for themselves. There are too many losers already, with the present system.

Children are illequipped to make such a decision.

Absolutely not.  High school kids may be intelligent but since they aren't nearly done being cooked yet, they aren't prepared to make that kind of decision.  It will be years before they will have the ability to see around (life's) corners.
