If you had a Paypal account, they would NEVER send an email asking you to log in to your account. Never click on a link in a Paypal or eBay email.

A legitimate email from Paypal would ask you to go to their website and log in there.

You already said. If you do not have a Paypal account and you are receiving so call "transaction" emails they are usually a scam of some sort.

I am wondering if someone has your info and bought something on the internet using a fradulant paypal.... Did the email say "you" were being charged for something? Or am I misunderstanding the scenario?

They stayed under the radar for 2-3 months before we caught on. When we added it all up, they had stolen close to three grand from us. Please watch your bank account and money. Make sure everything lines up correctly. Even if it is 20$ here, 40$ there. They are sneaky and patient.

As mentioned, anytime I get an email from PayPal, I always go directly to the website or the app. I never follow links from emails. Well, there are exceptions, but that is my general rule.

I received 1-3 daily and I too don't have a PayPal account. As a matter of fact, I've never had a PayPal account. I marked them as Spam, unsubscribe several and they still come back...
