It can be. But when thawed the texture is changed. If you do freeze use only in cooked dishes.

Although it's completely possible to freeze cream cheese, it does alter the texture. Thawed cream cheese is less creamy and a lot more crumbly than fresh cream cheese. Because of this, it's best to use frozen cream cheese in casseroles, baked dishes and dips. ... Low and non-fat cream cheeses don't freeze as well.

Every time I freeze cream cheese, its texture changes when
it is thawed. You can no longer whip it to make cheesecake because it does not
turn into that smooth cream you need. It can be used for cooking though. If you
are not going to bake with it, then you can store it in the freezer without any
worries.
