"4x" is the same thing as 4 being multiplied by x. So 4 * x.

Well, since we know that x = 16, and since x is the only term on the left side of the equation, we can just multiply both sides by 4 to find 4x.

4 * x = 16 * 4

4x = 64.

X= 16. So do 4x16. That would be 64.
