It helps the student check if they understand things by doing them on their own, plus when you do something at school and at home it means you are repeating a concept. The more you repeat something, the more it gets stuck in your brain.

No, going on holiday to South Korea is a great idea! And as they say, you only live once... Having sensible plans for your career or studies is good too, but if you get the chance to travel, I would highly recommend it.
