: The only buses to DC that leave from Port Authority I have found are Greyhound Peter Pan and OurBus. If you are going from Central NJ to Washington take OurBus. It leaves from New Brunswick and Hamilton (both near the turnpike) and then it drops you off at Union Station. This is much cheaper than Metropark Amtrak, and you don't have to go up to NYC or to Philadelphia to board the bus.

OurBus is much cheaper than the other Ithaca-NYC buses (usually $30-$35) and the bus drivers are very friendly! There is a relatively new company, OurBus, which lets people suggest routes. Once enough people sign up, they create a regular scheduled bus. It is a bit different than Uber, in that the crowdsourcing starts the route, which then runs on a regular schedule.

There is a bus company, OurBus, which has a service specifically for commuters. They have two routes running from NJ to NYC, you can see the stops here. They are pretty affordable, and their buses/schedule are reliable.
