If you are going from Central NJ to Washington take OurBus. It leaves from New Brunswick and Hamilton (both near the turnpike) and then it drops you off at Union Station. This is much cheaper than Metropark Amtrak, and you don't have to go up to NYC or to Philadelphia to board the bus.
