No you typically cannot add anyone to an account unless you bring that person in a branch with identification, they have to sign signature cards as well.

There are free and interest bearing and some that cost money, but you can earn even more interest

Automated Teller Machine

Go into a branch, or write a letter with your acct and social and signature saying you want to close your account. If you still have money have them send you a cashiers check back to you. You close your atm card over the phone.
