Our body cells are diploid because they contain the total number of 2n which is the complete number of chromosomes (46)

Diploid cells are cells with full number of body chromosome while haploid cells are cells with the chromosme number of their gamete.

Human diploid number is 46 while the haploid number is 23 for a normal organism which may vary in a defect organism.
