Anything that can help me remember an old language? I just realized how much of my Spanish I forgot. I can remember greetings and random stuff, and I can switch into my accent, but I can't converse like I used to do

I'd studied German at school, and then, spent some months travelling around the country before I had to start work. After a couple of months my German, if not conversationally fluent, was good enough to use in almost all everyday situations.

Ten years away from Germany, it all went. I did not realise I was forgetting until I had to do an exhibition in the country, and was sent over in advance to get things organised "Because I was a German speaker".

Real embarrassment followed, but gradually over the next couple of weeks, it all came back.

Spend a couple of weeks in a Spanish-speaking culture, it'll all come back, and you have a younger brain than I have, I am sure.

If its available in your area, watch Spanish speaking TV. (not just the soap operas) You will find your understanding comes back quickly.

There are many language learning sites online, most of which are free. Both Cafe Mocha and Duo Lingo have free Spanish. If you're really stuck, as another poster has suggested, movies, TV shows, subtext, and language together really help jog someone's memory.
