That depends on what the citation is for and the laws where it was issued. You could call the county clerks office and ask them.

Penalties differ from place to place, and it may even be up to a judge to hand out the suitable punishment for failure to pay .. But, either way .. There will be consequences.
If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime!
Most courts will work out a payment plan for you for minor crimes. If, after that, you fail to make a payment, the crap will fly.
