I tend to lean towards the "helpful" or compassionate conversations. I have been known to be the one people are drawn to when they are in a crisis. I wonder if I would have made a good councilor.... But I probably would have talked too much! LOL! A good councilor listens. I can do that to! :0)

I am along the lines as Yin and Yan. When someone is in crisis if allowed I will discuss their situation till a resolution is found.

The human condition.

That drive to understand our subjective purpose and embrace it as such.

I love when there is real education going on . . . Be it wisdom gained or lessons learned, if a discussion can even wander THAT path then I am a happy person.

In this, you and I share a common interest. I find such topics as human thought, philosphophy and cultural influence endlessly fascinating.
It is clear many who frequent this site are more reticent toward discussion of weightier topics, possibly for fear of dispute, which is fair, but as you mention, there is often learning to be had in such discourse, and I find myself invariably drawn to these exchanges.

Geez, how did "philosophophy" sneak past? The dementia grows.

LOL . . . too true my friend.
I gain just as much knowledge from great discussion as I hope to impart on the other person, and I hope, despite it landing on a positive or negative note, they still understand and embrace the learning part.

Science, Philosophy, Theology, "Applied" Religion---in no particular order because they are usually intertwined.
