No. My Grandfather on my Mother's side was stationed in the Philippines during WWII.

My dad landed on Utah beach on July 10th, about a month after the invasion started. He was in the Dog Battery, 473rd. AAA, Auto Weapons battalion.

Luckily, there was a log book written of the entire participation of the 473rd. I can actually trace the whereabouts of my dad during most of the war.

It is great Tiger. It was compiled and published in book form and distributed to members of the 473rd soon after the war. It's pretty cool to see my dad's name mentioned in a book.

No. My maternal grandfather was fortunate enough to stay stateside for the war. He was stationed at Ft. Dix in NJ, which was only 2 hours from home. My other grandfather didn't serve. There may have been a medical reason for it.
