What is the most important aspect of a great horror movie?

One word. Originality.

you cant have a horror movie without a bomb on the bus.

The element of surprise, to shock the audience.

You remember it always.

The unknown is the scariest part of a horror movie.

Intensity and a believable plot.

I think alfred hitchcock was the best .at psycho he showed anxiety scared screaming but not the actual murder.and the birds he showed special effects done by real birds i would go crazy if some birds were after me could u imagine that movie in 3d?

A great horror movie has a good story line. A great musical score doesn't hurt either.

-Good plot - A good plot is extremely individual based. But generally, it must be reasonable, believable, and consistent in action involved with a good wave of ups and downs.

-Surprise and unpredictable scenes - The more unpredictable and original the better. People get drown into the movie deeper and deeper when they have no idea what going to happen next. The more you get drown. The more you'll be shocked and get sudden reactions which adds to your joy of watching a horror movie.

-Good imagery and directory - Imagine in our own life out of a movie, how many words we say throughout our lives expressed with many different emotions. Every one of the lines we express throughout our lifetime can be a Oscar-deserved scene or a legendary line not only because of the deepness of the words but because of the right imagery and how rightly director pictures it.

-Very well made soundtrack- Just like music as happens a lot that people barely hear the background patterns such as drum and guitar bass. But that background pattern has a huge role on their joy toward a track. This is exactly what a movie soundtrack does. Even if people don't recognize it. Soundtrack plays a huge crucial role in enhancement of the feelings, tearing apart emotions and tricking the scene at the heat of the moment.

-Casting- Casting is one of the most difficult crucial jobs. You want to give soul and physic to virtual characters. It must be done with high accuracy. When a character be chosen right. The actor will do his nature work on the character. And with a good imagery out of the characters. The plot will be enhanced and the movie will turn out natural and reliable.

-The movie represent it's genre very correctly - If it's Horror - if it's Crime horror - mystery thriller ect  . . .if it's about blood, if it's about dark atmosphere and enhancement of the fear, if it's about long-term mystery, it gets done correctly and at the peak of the genre.

I just realized this soundtrack is missing in Dark Majinn video so i add it. Enjoy the creepy feeling you get. It's enjoyable to me! Such a decent soundtrack for a decent movie!
