I am polite and cordial, until someone gives me reason not to be. I just smile and say Hi when I meet someone. And then I don't worry about if they like me or not.

I gave up on "like". These days I'm satisfied if I can get people just to tolerate me.

I don't think I actively "try" to make people like me .. I do try to be cordial, friendly and polite .. And if they like me, fine .. If not, that's their perogative.
