Call your carrier and immediately turn off the phone, report it to them as stolen, if you have a "Theft" App use it. Report it if possible to the police.

I don't know what country you are in. Here in the UK theft is theft, and should be reported to the police as such. You are pretty much in their hands after that though.

Yea, I don't know where it is you live .. But, pretty much anywhere in North America, you have rights to your personal property .. However .. I believe THIS would be a civil case.

You would have to report your property as being stolen and handle it yourself.  It would be a matter of who said what, and the onus would be on you to prove it was stolen.  If the home owner denies having it, there is no recourse for the home care to do much in terms of legalities. They are not responsible for your lost personal items.

When you enter someone's home .. Whether you are there for personal or professional reasons, you are expected to take reasonable precautions to protect your personal items.

If something goes missing .. You don't have much choice but to report it to the authorities yourself.  If you don't have a 'locate my phone' or the equivalent ap on your phone, you may be best to cancel your phone service util you find it.

Well I would ask to borrow the person's phone and call my phone and listen for the ring tone.

Gator Blu, it could be just as simple as that...client truly might not know anything about the phone, but if they dial it up then they can find it from the ring...

That was my first thought but, I was thinking the ringer may be off.
