The Qur'an depending on who's interpreting it forbids the consumption alcohol and all its derivatives.
Why is drinking alcohol not allowed in islam?
Probably because somebody had a monopoly on the tea supply.
Actually, it makes a kind of sense ... As alcohol makes you dehydrate faster.
Probably for the same reason they are not allowed to eat pork or carrion. They are suppose to have a clean diet.
